Reflections of my heart:

I was recently, very actively, going in a direction with some  decisions that the Lord was allowing me to walk out, but suddenly out of nowhere, I began to feel unsettled, and had no peace to continue on that path. IT was like "suddenly" the holy spirit was saying to me- stop this and do not continue it. The things I was doing were not bad things, they were necessary things , but it was as if suddenly the holy spirit "forbid" me to continue.. Acts 16:6-Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the holy spirit to preach the word in Asia. v7- After they had come to Mysia, they came down to Troas. And a vision appeared to Paul in the night. A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying, "Come over to Macedonia and help us."

I kind of felt as if I got a small glimpse into being forbidden by the spirit not to do the thing that I was doing. The spirit was forbidding me to continue into some very important things that I was doing; Just a few days prior to this I had began to feel very unsettled in my spirit as if the Lord was trying to get my attention and speak to me..so I specifically made time to get away and pray and wait on the Lord.. I took three days to seek the Lord on this matter. It was an intense time of asking, seeking and allowing the spirit to lead me.  In Paul's case, there was a specific reason that the spirit was leading Him in that direction. In our personal lives we may not always know the specifics , especially right away. But God sees ahead and He knows what is best for us. HE knows which direction we should take in every decision that we make and if He sees we are going a wrong direction, His spirit will lead us into the right and best path, if we take the time to be still and wait upon Him.

This is when we have to rely on Him and trust Him that he has the best plan for our lives. As the scripture says to trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and HE will direct your paths. Although it is not easy to be guided by his spirit, it is very necessary.  When we seek first His Kingdom, we are inviting Him into every decision that we make and expecting that HE is leading us into what is His will, and not our will. This, in my opinion, is the road less traveled,  but this is where God desires us to be. Following Jesus is not the easiest most convenient way, but it is the best way.
